A registered professional engineer in 12 states, Mr. Engelland is Owner and President of Engineering Consultants, PA, a consulting engineering firm located in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Prior to joining EC as an engineer in 2006, Mr. Engelland served as Chief Engineer of Mann & Company, PA, a small architecture firm located in Hutchinson, Kansas. In his position at Mann and Company, Mr. Engelland oversaw all aspects of engineering for the firm.
Mr. Engelland began his engineering career at Flad & Associates, a nationwide architecture and engineering firm headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin. While at Flad & Associates, Mr. Engelland advanced to the position of Lead Structural Engineer and Associate of the firm and was the lead structural engineer on a number of award-winning state-of-the-art pharmaceutical laboratory buildings.
A native of south-central Kansas, Mr. Engelland received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Architectural Engineering (Structural Emphasis) from the University of Kansas, in Lawrence, Kansas in 1993.
Mr. Engelland and his wife, Laura E. Engelland, PE, LC, make their home in Hutchinson along with their three children.

Electrical Engineer/Lighting Designer
Mrs. Engelland joined Engineering Consultants, PA in 2008 as electrical engineer and lighting designer.
Prior to joining EC, Mrs. Engelland served as electrical engineer at Mann & Company, PA, a small architecture firm located in Hutchinson, Kansas. In her position at Mann and Company she was responsible for all of the electrical and lighting design for the firm’s projects.
Mrs. Engelland began her engineering career at Affiliated Engineers, Inc., a nationwide engineering firm headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin. While at Affiliated Engineers Mrs. Engelland was the lead electrical project engineer on many award-winning, large-scale projects and advanced to the position of Director of Lighting.
Mrs. Engelland received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Architectural Engineering (Electrical and Lighting Emphasis) from the University of Kansas in 1993. She is a registered professional engineer in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin, a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society and was the first lighting professional in Kansas to be Lighting Certified by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions.
Duane R. Phillips, PE
Consultant Engineer
Mr. Phillips is the former Owner and President of Engineering Consultants, PA. Mr. Phillips was a firm director beginning in 1976 and was the firm owner from 1983 through 2007. He now serves as a special consultant performing structural engineering and lending his years of experience to the firm.
A native of south-central Kansas, Mr. Phillips received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Milling Technology from Kansas State University, in Manhattan, Kansas in 1962.
Terry L. Wolcott, CET
CAD Manager
A certified engineering technician since 1970, Mr. Wolcott is manager of the drafting department and chief construction inspector for Engineering Consultants, PA.
Prior to joining EC as a drafter in 1968, Mr. Wolcott was employed at Grain Spouting and Elevator as a drafter and also worked in construction as a framer. He has been a key member of the Engineering Consultants team from early in the firm’s history. He is a native of Hutchinson and attended Hutchinson Community College and Wichita Drafting College.
Rebecca S. Cole
CAD Technician/Office Manager
A drafter with Engineering Consultants since 1973, Ms. Cole is the office manager and a drafter for Engineering Consultants, PA.
Prior to joining EC as a drafter in 1973, Ms. Cole graduated from Ft. Hays State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She has been a key member of the Engineering Consultants team from early in the firm’s history. She is a native of Hutchinson and a licensed pilot and experimental aviator.
Denise L. Weber
Structural Engineer
A graduate engineer with a Master's degree in structural engineering, Ms. Weber has been with Engineering Consultants, P.A. since 2009.
Ms. Weber graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelors Degree in Architectural Engineering and a Masters degree in Structural Engineering. A native of Colorado, she enjoys being outdoors and working with her horse.
